Nothing prepares you for something like this. โฃ
Itโ€™s the ๐”๐๐Š๐๐Ž๐—ช๐ part that kills me. โฃ
โฃ
If you know a nurse, they are probably type A, very organized, well prepared .... itโ€™s how weโ€™re built. โฃ
โฃ
We donโ€™t like unknown. โฃ
We donโ€™t like change. โฃ
We donโ€™t like feeling unprepared. โฃ
โฃ
I walked out of my shift today after 13.5 hours on my feet.โฃ
I stripped my shoes off at my car and placed them in a plastic bag in my trunk. โฃ
I took my clothes off in the parking deck at put them into another bag and placed them in my trunk. โฃ
I wiped my body down with bleach wipes, hoping to not contaminate anything. โฃ
I drove home without clothes and as I pulled into the driveway my husband opened the door. โฃ
I picked up my dirty clothes put them straight into the wash and my husband started it behind me. โฃ
I headed upstairs, without touching a thing, to a shower that was turned on and ready for me to walk in. โฃ
I scrubbed my body, praying that every possible particle was removed, so that I donโ€™t spread anything to my children. โฃ
Then, I laid down next to my kids as they slept and whispered to them how much mommy loved them. โฃ
โฃ
Every time we go to work we are risking our lives. โฃ
Every time we go to work we are risking our familyโ€™s lives. โฃ

Stay home. โฃ
Use the ER, only if needed. โฃ
Keep social distancing. โฃ
Donโ€™t travel. โฃ
